Operating instructions for Toyota RAV4 from 2006
INTERIOR
To create a spacious cabin used seats with smooth shapes and a thin profile. On the upholstery of all doors a profile of the boomerang is made, emphasizing the sportiness of the cabin.
DASHBOARD
The combination of the span of the panel in the horizontal direction with the vertical cascade of controls in its middle part gives it a sporty look. To give a sense of richness of finish, the frame of the upper and middle part of the middle console and the control panel of the heater are painted with metallic paint with the inclusion of thin elongated grains. The side nozzles of the heater are closed with a plate blind. Closed nozzles merge with the surface of the control panel, giving it a more neat appearance. The cup holder in the middle console is backlit. A soft polyurethane pillow is mounted on the center console cover.

As standard equipment on all models, the Optitron instrument panel with triple dial is used. On models for Europe, the standard addition to the instrument panel is a multi-parameter liquid crystal display under the speedometer.
On all models intended for the European market, the standard is a multi-parameter liquid crystal display. The multi-parameter display shows the total mileage, daily mileage, driving parameters, various warning messages and fault codes. In addition to the above, the display has the following features: the choice of one of the six languages for messages, the choice of a system of measures for the presentation of driving parameters, total mileage, daily mileage, resetting average fuel consumption and average speed, and canceling some warning messages. To perform the above settings, use the switch.
Displayed information
Total mileage (permanent display)
Outside temperature (permanent display)
Driving parameters:
- Instant fuel consumption
- Average fuel consumption after refueling
- Fuel reserve
- Average speed of the car after the start of the movement
FUEL LEVEL INDICATOR IN THE TANK
With the ignition on, the pointer shows the approximate amount of fuel remaining in the tank.
The tank is filled almost completely - the pointer reaches the "1/1" mark.
The tank is almost empty - the pointer reaches the "R" mark.
It is recommended not to allow the fuel level in the tank to drop below 1/4 of its capacity.
The indication of the indicator changes during braking, acceleration and rotation. This is caused by fuel flow in the fuel tank.
If the fuel level reaches the "R" position or the low fuel warning light turns on, you should fill the fuel tank as soon as possible. When the car is tilted and at corners due to fuel flow in the fuel tank, the fuel gauge may fluctuate, in addition, the low fuel warning lamp may turn on before the usual.
On some models, when the fuel consumption is full, the malfunction indicator light comes on. Fill the fuel tank. When the movement starts, the fault warning lamp goes out. If the warning light does not turn off, contact your Toyota dealer as soon as possible.
TIRE INDICATOR OF ENGINE COOLANT LIQUID
When the ignition is on, the pointer indicates the temperature of the engine coolant. The temperature of the engine depends on the weather and the degree of its load. If the pointer arrow moves to the red zone, it means that the motor has overheated. In case of engine overheating, stop and allow it to cool.
The car can overheat when operating under certain conditions, for example:
- With prolonged movement uphill in hot weather.
- When the speed decreases or stops after driving at high speed.
- When the engine is idling with the air conditioner on while driving with frequent stops.
- When driving with a trailer.
