The sports all-wheel drive model Audi S6 first appeared in the manufacturer's line in 1995. Then it was presented at once two cars on the basis of the A6 - sedan and station wagon. The latter was called S6 Avant. In the development of cars used platform A6 Quattro. In the fall of 1999, the manufacturer demonstrated the updated S6 and S6 Avant models. Externally from the A6, the car features an additional emblem on the radiator grille, reduced body seating, low-profile tires and new wheel disks. The ground clearance S6 was reduced by 1 centimeter. The Audi S6 Avant is able to accelerate to the first hundred in 6.8 seconds. This model also has a good capacity - the volume of the trunk with the rear seats folded is 2000 liters. The first S6 was equipped with 2.2-liter V6 power units with a power of 230 horsepower, which previously fitted the S4. Later, the car received a forced 4.2-liter V8 engine with a capacity of 340 horsepower. The latest generation of Audi S6 debuted in 2008. Both versions of the model are equipped with a 435-horsepower FSI engine working at 5.2 liters. The maximum speed of the car is 250 km / h, and up to 100 km / h the wagon accelerates in just 5.3 seconds - 0.1 seconds slower than the sedan.
