ARO (short for Auto Romania) is a Romanian plant for the production of off-road vehicles. His first car - IMS-57 - was released in 1957. The car was built on the basis of GAZ-69. More than 90% of the cars produced were exported to more than 100 countries. He went bankrupt in 2006.

Family cars were produced from 1980 to 2003. Used the engine Dacia volume of 1.3 liters. In England, this car was exported under the name Dacia Duster, also called Dacia 10 in Romania, ARO Trapeurs in France and ARO Ischia in Italy.
